Honoring Eve's Love of Grand Marais
Eve's Place is a seasonal resort on the shores of Lake Superior, open mid-May to late October. The resort has four quaint "tiny house" cottages located just outside of Grand Marais, Minnesota. Each of the four charming cabins has a unique layout as well as private access to a pebble beach on Lake Superior, shared by just the four cabins. Located on Croftville Road (known as the "walking road" by local residents and guests), the cozy cabins are within a few miles of the shops and restaurants of Grand Marais, as well as wonderful places to hike, bike, paddle and explore all along the North Shore. Make a fire in the fire ring outside your cabin; skip stones into the Big Lake; walk the 3 mile loop of Croftville Road; find your inspiration; or just relax and listen to the waves along the beach. There's plenty to do, or nothing at all.
As a child, the new owner spent her fall vacations here with her artist mother, Eve. They spent countless hours walking the ever-so-charming Croftville Road on which the cabins are located. Eve would sketch and paint as her daughter would watch, or they would look for agates on the cabins' private beach on Lake Superior. Eve passed away in 2020, and her daughter's heart has been warmed by acquiring this beautiful place to honor Eve's love of Grand Marais. The new owner has renamed these cottages "Eve's Place", in honor of her artist mother. We look forward to sharing Eve's Place with you, and trust that you will make your own special memories on the North Shore.
About the Property & "Tiny House" Cottages
Eve's Place is an easy 3 mile drive just northeast of Grand Marais, on Croftville Road (County 87). The "resort" sits on 1.5 acres and has 200 feet of beach on Lake Superior. Off of Highway 61, Croftville Road is a 1.5 mile long road that hugs the shoreline and intersects the resort. It's a narrow road with a 20 mph speed limit. There's little car traffic (mostly walkers) and the cars rarely even go 20 mph: as it's such a beautiful road, most people want to take in the scenery. If you choose to stay with your dog in one of our two dog friendly cabins, this is an ideal location as you just walk out your door and can walk your dog on this 3 mile loop of Croftville Road.
Eve's Place has four tiny adorable cabins, ranging from 304 sq feet to 384 sq feet, all with amazing views of the Lake. All cabins have small kitchens with everything you need to make a "cabin" meal. The bathrooms in the cabins were updated in 2023 with new flooring, toilets, and tiled showers. All new comfortable beds in 2022, as a good night sleep is a must! This is the perfect place to sit back, relax and read a book. But if you love your TV time, the cabins are equipped with a smart TV, so don't forget your streaming passcodes. The WIFI throughout all cottages is good, and will hopefully be getting better over the course of 2024 as we update the access point. Many people have worked remotely here with no issues.
Cabin 2 has been a dog friendly cabin for the past two years, and we have now added Cabin 4 as dog friendly. Cabins 1 and 3 will remain pet free for those of you sensitive to pet dander. Please note that guests are required to keep their dogs on a leash at all times while on our property. Eve's Place makes an annual donation to Go Dog North Shore, the new local dog park, so that dogs have a lovely place to run free just 4 miles from Eve's Place (www.godognorthshore.org)
The owners, Mona and Ralph, will be living on site starting in 2024 in their newly built small cabin on the back of the property. 2024 will be the first season we will be managing Eve's Place on our own.
